Well what do you know?
I’ve been blogging (off and on, as it were) for a year!
Actually, I FORGOT that it had been a year, but I thought I should commemorate it anyway. Better late than never, right? So drink your champagne and have a piece of cake!
Guess it’s time to assess and plan and stuff, huh?
Nah.
Okay, well maybe just a little bit.
I began blogging as a creative outlet. I had read so many other blogs about home improvement and cooking and parenting and homeschooling that I just had to join the fun and get myself out there, too. I’m glad I did, and I hope that those of you who have stuck with me found something that you liked here. It has been fun.
I realize that I have sort of moved away from the DIY part of things, and I guess that’s just part of me still trying to figure out what I want say here. Having a large family and homeschooling creates all kinds of fodder for story-telling and oh yeah, they sort of take up a lot of my time, so that’s what most of my posts have been about lately. I hope to get back into some home improvement stuff at some point, but right now my priority is the family.
Also, I’ve been reading a lot of humorous parenting blogs and love to laugh and make people laugh as well. So I’m exploring that. Kids are hysterical – the things they say and do…I guess I’m a little biased. Life is also…interesting.
I will probably be doing a little more “life” writing, and I hope that doesn’t offend or scare anyone off. I enjoy sharing thoughts on different aspects of life, especially this parenting gig – God knows I’m no expert. There’s a reason for that, too. I’ll be sharing some of that with you here. Hope ya’ll don’t mind if I put my undies out on the line, because I have some fun stuff to deal with. What better place to do that than on a public blog for the world to see?
I promise to conquer any demons with as much humor as I can. And cupcakes.
I hope to be more transparent and honest and flawed and silly and figure out what I’m supposed to be doing with myself. All for your enjoyment. And mine, of course.
I’m working on some articles that I hope will be entertaining (for you), helpful (for you and me) and cathartic (for me…and maybe you, who knows?). I will still be sharing recipes and the occasional craft or DIY, but I’ll be the first to tell you – I’m no expert on those things, either. Haha.
Mostly, I’d like to thank all of you for reading…all 7-10 of you. I know my audience isn’t that big, but that’s okay. If I made you smile with my singular wit or shared a recipe or project that you liked or told a story about life that was enjoyable, then that is good enough for me.
I am looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen with my little piece of space here on the internet…
